The purpose of the project Biodress was the development of an advanced medical device for the treatment of wounds, able to increase the speed of healing.
The expected result of the project BIODRESS was the development of a multi-component structure with antimicrobial properties. The medical device is formed by a part composed of nanofibers, forming a matrix and a second part composed of a matrix and antibacterial. The matrix nano-fibrous on the other hand aims to stimulate the adhesion, proliferation and migration of epithelial cells. The nanofibers are functionalized with bioactive molecules such as through layer-by-layer technique in order to promote the healing process.
The multi-component structure for the production of advanced medications provided in the project , allowed to develop as a distinct and separate the two following implementations:
- dressing materials based on innovative polymers for the healing of acute wounds;
- dressing materials based on innovative polymers for the healing of chronic wounds.
